Withdrawal Policy
International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (IJIR) recognizes that authors may occasionally need to withdraw a manuscript due to legitimate academic, ethical, or legal reasons. However, manuscript withdrawal must be conducted responsibly in order to protect the integrity of the editorial process and the valuable time contributed by editors and peer reviewers.
Before Editorial Evaluation
Authors may request manuscript withdrawal before the manuscript enters formal editorial screening or peer review. Withdrawal requests at this stage must be submitted in writing to the editorial office.
During Editorial Screening or Peer Review
Once a manuscript has entered editorial evaluation, reviewer assignment, or formal peer review, authors may not withdraw the manuscript without providing a valid written justification.
Acceptable reasons may include:
- • Major methodological concerns
- • Ethical issues
- • Accidental duplicate submission
- • Legal concerns
- • Author conflicts that prevent publication
The editorial office reserves the right to review withdrawal requests on a case-by-case basis. Because significant editorial and reviewer resources may already have been invested, unjustified withdrawals at this stage may be formally documented.
After Acceptance
Once a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication, withdrawal requests will only be considered under exceptional circumstances.
These may include: Serious factual errors, ethical misconduct concerns, copyright disputes, legal obligations, verified duplicate publication issues.
Acceptance represents a formal publication commitment between the journal and the author(s). Therefore, post-acceptance withdrawals are subject to strict editorial review.
After Publication
Once any of the following has occurred:
- • DOI registration
- • Issue assignment
- • Online publication
- • Final publication release
The manuscript can no longer be withdrawn. At this stage, any concerns will be managed through the journal’s:
- • Correction Policy
- • Retraction Policy
- • Expression of Concern Procedures
Unethical Withdrawal Practices
The journal does not accept unethical withdrawal practices, including:
- • Simultaneous submissions to multiple journals without disclosure
- • Repeated unjustified withdrawals
- • Withdrawal requests made after extensive peer review without valid reason
- • Attempts to submit accepted work elsewhere
Such practices may result in temporary submission restrictions or additional editorial review for future submissions.
Editorial Integrity Commitment
International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (IJIR) follows internationally recognized publication ethics principles and aims to balance author rights with editorial responsibility, transparency, and scholarly integrity.
