Journal Policies
The International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research maintains clear policies on open access, authorship, data availability, funding, licensing, copyright, author contributions, and long-term preservation. These policies support transparency, accountability, and international scholarly publishing standards.
Open Access Policy
The journal is an open-access academic journal. Published articles are freely available to readers without subscription or access fees. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and use the published content in accordance with the journal’s license terms.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their published work. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License — CC BY 4.0, unless otherwise stated.
This license permits use, distribution, reproduction, and adaptation in any medium, provided that proper credit is given to the original author(s), the journal, and the source of publication.
Data Availability Policy
Authors are encouraged to make research data available whenever ethically, legally, and practically possible. Data availability increases transparency, reproducibility, and scholarly trust.
Authors should include a data availability statement in their manuscript where applicable. The statement may indicate that:
- Data are available in a public repository.
- Data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.
- Data cannot be shared due to privacy, ethical, legal, institutional, or confidentiality restrictions.
- No datasets were generated or analyzed because the study is theoretical, conceptual, or literature-based.
For research involving human participants, personal data, minors, sensitive information, or confidential material, authors must ensure that data sharing complies with ethical approval, informed consent, and applicable privacy regulations.
Funding Statement Policy
Authors must disclose all sources of financial support related to the research, writing, editing, or publication of the manuscript.
Funding statements should include the name of the funding body, grant number where applicable, and the role of the funder in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, writing, or publication decision.
If no funding was received, authors should state:
No external funding was received for this study.
Transparent funding disclosure is required whether or not the funding source influenced the research.
Conflict of Interest Policy
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, academic, or professional conflicts of interest that may influence the research or its interpretation.
If there are no conflicts of interest, authors should state:
The author(s) declare no conflict of interest.
Editors and reviewers must also disclose conflicts of interest and withdraw from the process when impartial evaluation is not possible.
CRediT Author Contribution Policy
For multi-author manuscripts, the journal encourages authors to provide an author contribution statement using the CRediT taxonomy.
Possible contribution roles include:
- Conceptualization
- Methodology
- Formal analysis
- Investigation
- Data curation
- Writing – original draft
- Writing – review and editing
- Supervision
- Project administration
- Funding acquisition
All authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to be accountable for their contributions.
Authorship Policy
Authorship must reflect genuine scholarly contribution. Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria may be acknowledged with their permission.
Changes in authorship after submission require written approval from all authors and a clear explanation to the editorial office.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors may archive the published version of their article on personal websites, institutional repositories, academic profiles, and non-commercial repositories, provided that the published source and DOI are properly cited.
Article Processing Charges
If article processing charges apply, they must be clearly stated on the journal website. No hidden submission fee, review fee, or undisclosed publication charge should be applied.
Preservation Policy
The journal is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of published scholarly content. The journal uses digital preservation and archiving mechanisms to ensure that articles remain available over time.
The journal’s preservation infrastructure may include:
- PKP Preservation Network
- Zenodo
- Internet Archive
- Crossref DOI infrastructure
- OAI-PMH metadata harvesting
- OpenAIRE-compatible metadata
- Other long-term archiving services where applicable
Published articles are assigned persistent identifiers where available, and article metadata are made accessible for discovery, indexing, and preservation.
Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing and must include the reason for withdrawal. Once an article has been published, withdrawal is not normally possible; post-publication issues are handled through correction, retraction, or expression of concern procedures.
Repository and Metadata Policy
The journal supports metadata interoperability through OAI-PMH and related metadata standards. Article-level metadata may include title, author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, abstract, keywords, DOI, publication date, language, license, and PDF access.
