Become a Reviewer

The International Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (IJIR), published by Oxbridge Publishing UK Ltd in the United Kingdom, invites qualified scholars, researchers, and subject specialists to join its international peer-review network as official reviewers.

As a rigorously developed international, peer-reviewed, open access academic journal, IJIR is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly integrity, editorial independence, interdisciplinary rigor, and publication transparency.

Why Review for IJIR?

Serving as a reviewer for IJIR offers scholars an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the global academic community while becoming part of a selective and internationally expanding scholarly network.

Reviewers help strengthen the quality and reliability of interdisciplinary scholarship, support fair editorial decisions, improve methodological and theoretical rigor, and protect the long-term credibility of academic publishing.

Reviewer Eligibility Criteria

Applications are welcome from scholars who hold a PhD degree, equivalent doctoral qualification, or demonstrable advanced academic expertise in a relevant field. Applicants should have an active affiliation with a recognized university, research institution, academic organization, or equivalent scholarly body.

Applicants are expected to possess a clear research or publication background relevant to their field of expertise. Prior experience in academic peer review, editorial work, research supervision, or scholarly publishing is preferred, although not mandatory where strong academic competence is evident.

Reviewers must demonstrate competence in research methodology, academic ethics, critical evaluation, scholarly writing, confidentiality, and conflict-of-interest transparency.

Preferred Areas of Expertise

IJIR welcomes reviewer applications across fields including Communication and Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Communication, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Political Science, International Relations, Humanities, Cultural Studies, Law, Business and Management, Economics, Artificial Intelligence and Society, Ethics and Technology, Migration Studies, Public Policy, and Contemporary Global Studies.

Scholars with cross-disciplinary expertise are particularly encouraged to apply.

Reviewer Responsibilities

All appointed reviewers are expected to conduct objective, constructive, and evidence-based manuscript evaluations. Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality of all submitted materials and declare any real or potential conflict of interest before accepting a review invitation.

Reviewers are expected to evaluate manuscript originality, methodological quality, theoretical contribution, ethical integrity, structure, citation quality, clarity of argument, and overall academic value. Review reports should be professional, substantive, respectful, and useful to both editors and authors.

IJIR follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review model designed to protect fairness, impartiality, and scholarly independence.

Reviewer Honorarium

To recognize the time, expertise, and scholarly contribution of its reviewers, IJIR provides a modest reviewer honorarium.

As a respectful recognition of the time, expertise, and scholarly service contributed by our reviewers, IJIR may offer a modest honorarium of £15 GBP for each completed, independent, and professionally conducted peer-review report.

Honorarium eligibility is subject to successful completion of the assigned review, submission within the requested review timeline, provision of professional and academically meaningful reviewer comments, and full compliance with confidentiality and ethical review expectations.

The honorarium is offered as recognition for completed scholarly service and is not linked to manuscript acceptance, rejection, recommendation, or final editorial outcome. This principle protects reviewer independence and preserves the ethical neutrality of the peer-review process.

Reviewer Registration Requirement

To be considered for review assignments, applicants must first complete reviewer registration through the journal system. During registration, applicants must create an account and specifically select Reviewer as part of their role within the system.

Applications may not be processed unless the applicant is formally registered in the journal system as a Reviewer. This requirement ensures accurate reviewer assignment, expertise matching, editorial tracking, confidentiality management, and workflow integrity.

Required Information for Reviewer Application

Applicants should provide complete and accurate academic and professional details, including full name, academic title or rank, institutional affiliation, faculty or department, country, official institutional email address, ORCID iD, areas of expertise, discipline keywords, publication background, highest academic qualification, university webpage or institutional profile URL, and a short academic biography.

Where editorial verification is required, IJIR may request additional supporting academic documentation, including a recent CV, publication records, institutional confirmation, or related scholarly information.

How to Apply / How to Reach Us

Scholars who wish to join the IJIR reviewer network should first register through the journal system, select Reviewer during registration, and complete their academic profile with accurate expertise and affiliation details.

All reviewer requests are individually evaluated by the editorial team based on disciplinary relevance, publication background, methodological competence, institutional credibility, ethical suitability, reviewer availability, and the overall needs of the reviewer pool. Submission of a request does not automatically guarantee reviewer appointment.
